The Culture and Tourism Ministry will hold the Lake Batur Festival from Oct. 10 to 12 to promote tourism in Kintamani, in the Bali regency of Bangli.
“This will be the first time we hold the festival in an effort to increase tourist visits to Indonesia, especially Bali,” Bangli administration spokesman I Made Mahindra Putra said Wednesday in Bali.
He said the festival would include a trekking contest and a boat race around Lake Batur, situated in Kintamani district, and a food expo, among other events.
“The food festival will feature renowned chefs from a number of star-rated restaurants in Bali,” Made said.
He added the festival would also include a tourism workshop and a 'city tour' featuring participants from 15 countries.
The event will be concentrated at a wharf in Kedisan village in Kintamani, Made said, as quoted by Antara.
