Garuda has scrapped its plans to operate services from Brisbane to Bali amid over-capacity in the Queensland market and poor sales, Travel Today can reveal.
The carrier confirmed the move this morning that itm will suspend operations until further notice.
Garuda was due to begin operating a three times weekly service from December 14. It withdrew from Brisbane in 2006 but strong demand earlier this year prompted a return.
But with Jetstar and Virgin Blue also due to enter the Brisbane to Bali market in December, the market was suddenly flooded with capacity it could not sustain.
